WHAT IS A CARRIER OIL?
Carrier oils are named so because they're often used to 'carry' essential oils for application to the skin. While essential oils are very strong and must be diluted before skin application or massage, 'carrier' vegetable oils such as apricot kernel or jojoba are safe to apply to the skin undiluted as they are and so make an excellent base in which to dilute essential oils to apply to the skin topically or in a massage.
Carrier oils are generally 'cold pressed', or extracted at a low temperature to preserve the nutrients in the oil, making them excellent for all manner of skincare, whereas cooking or commercial oils are usually HOT pressed for greater yield, which destroys much of the oil's goodness and makes them useless for skincare applications.
Aroma Queen carries our own range of quality cold-pressed CARRIER OILS, perfect for massage or skincare straight out of the bottle, or add essential oils to your carrier oil if you wish to scent the oil or enjoy the therapeutic benefits of Aromatherapy. Oils such as Jojoba or Sweet Almond are well known in their own right for their skincare benefits, and can be used as moisturisers or skincare treatments even on their own.
You can also find other similar items such as Rosewater and Glycerine in this category.
We also offer MASSAGE OILS in an unscented water-soluble carrier oil blend, or available scented in a choice of Essential Oil blends, from Sport & Muscles, to Slumber - ready to use for an aromatherapy massage.
