Resin Incense - FRANKINCENSE, OMANI Najdi Grade
Omani Frankincense from the Boswellia Sacra tree is typically regarded as the finest quality Frankincense resin available, and finally we have been able to source some beautiful resins direct from Oman.
In Oman, Frankincense is usually classified into four types, with resins of lighter colour and larger clump sizes generally graded higher and more valuable. The four grades are based on the four geographic locations in Dhofar from where the trees are grown and the resin harvested. We now stock the two highest grades of Omani Frankincense: 'Hojari' and 'Najdi' grades (each available separately).
The finest quality (first grade) Omani Frankincense resin is known as 'Hojari' Frankincense, and is harvested from the trees that grow in the Eastern part of Dhofar. Hojari Frankincense has the lightest colour of the Omani resins, often with a slight pale green tint, and typically has a larger clump size. The scent is the most luscious Frankincense we have ever experienced.
The second grade of Omani Frankincense, also a beautiful quality resin, is known as 'Najdi'. The resin has a pale yellow colour, and is collected from a plateau in the Najd region behind the Dhofar mountains.
The third and fourth grades of Omani Frankincense are 'shathari' and 'shaabi', however we only stock the two highest grades.
If you are looking for the finest resins, these are the best quality Frankincense resins we have ever sourced.
In Ancient Egypt Frankincense was worth more than its weight in gold - it is somewhat more accessible now! The aroma is clean and lemony, with a distinct fresh Frankincense aroma. Frankincense is thought to elevate the mind and expand spiritual consciousness, perfect for meditation, and mixes well with other resins, in particular Myrrh.
These quality natural resin incense pieces are suitable for burning on self-igniting CHARCOAL DISKS - available separately (CLICK HERE). Many of our resins are available in various sizes - just choose your sizing from the drop-down OPTIONS menu near the top of the page, before adding it to your cart. As you only need to use a couple of pieces at a time, each pack will last for many uses.
NOTE RE SIZES & PHOTOS: Photos may illustrate a larger or smaller quantity than what is listed, and are to give an idea of the typical resin colour, texture and size, which will differ from pack to pack - see the illustration of (L-R) 100g and 25g of resin pieces, along with 15g wood pieces and smaller 10-15g resin packs.
As some resins need to be broken up into smaller sizes, most types do include a small amount of powder along with larger sized pellets (unless otherwise described) - we often add extra powder over the quoted weight. Pellets and powder can all be burned for similar effect, and larger pieces can be easily broken down into smaller pellets if desired.
Don't forget to order CHARCOAL TABLETS if you don't already have some on hand. View our CENSERS (resin incense burners) HERE.
WHAT IS RESIN INCENSE?
Resin incense has been used since Biblical days. It is the purest form of incense: natural gums, resins, wood chips and herbs from aromatic plants, used either in pure pellets or in a pre-mixed blend, and warmed with heat (usually charcoal disks / tablets) to emit their fragrance through aromatic smoke. Aroma Queen specialises in resins and stocks dozens of different pure gums and blends, in the most divine natural scents to suit every taste. If you enjoy standard stick incense, you are sure to enjoy resin incense.
