FRANKINCENSE is an oleoresin from Boswellia carterii and Boswellia thurifera trees, originating from the Middle East and Somalia. In Ancient Egypt Frankincense was worth more than its weight in gold - it is somewhat more accessible now! The aroma is spicy and lemony, thought to elevate the mind and expand spiritual consciousness, perfect for meditation. Frankincense mixes well with other resins, in particular Myrrh.
MYRRH SELECT is the oleoresin of the Commiphora myrrha shrub, known to be used as incense for more than 3500 years, and was the basis of many early perfumes. The aroma is spicy and delicate, with a balsamic undertone, and is considered to be profoundly calming and restorative. Myrrh mixes well with Frankincense, which is why the two are often found as a pair.
WHAT IS RESIN INCENSE?
Resin incense has been used since Biblical days. It is the purest form of incense: natural gums, resins, wood chips and herbs from aromatic plants, used either in pure pellets or in a pre-mixed blend, and warmed with heat (usually charcoal disks / tablets) to emit their fragrance through aromatic smoke. Aroma Queen specialises in resins and stocks dozens of different pure gums and blends, in the most divine natural scents to suit every taste. If you enjoy standard stick incense, you are sure to enjoy resin incense.
